Info graphic/stand design for UEA sea surge

This was a collaborative project between local people of North Norfolk, a team of NUA fine art students, and UEA climate research scientists. We wanted to communicate the local concerns, the storm surge damage and the impact to nature using the latest UEA climate research, with a stunning three dimensional info graphic. The North Norfolk coastal villages had experienced damage to homes, business and a long clean up process. The local fauna and flora also experienced salt water entering fresh water pools which has an impact to ecosystems, and storm damage to coastal paths had changed familiar landscapes. We wanted to make the info graphic as current as possible and change when future research was published. Removable velcro panels were used to update information. We included coastal audio to fully immerse viewers when viewing the info graphic. The collapsable stand was transportable, effective and sensitively communicated the key issues. We used a lightweight honeycomb cardboard which allowed us to print directly onto the surface and laser cut coastal features on different layers to bring added dimension to this info graphic.
